Action Research Plan

Goal: To use blogging to increase communication skills of students of low socioeconomic status across different ethnic backgrounds, thus increase their scores on standardized writing tests.

1. Identify 6 to 10 student with low socioeconomic backgrounds to assist in research project.

Ensure that enough data has been collected to judge the effectiveness of student communications.


 

3. Setup blogging account for students and begin having them blog twice a week. The students will blog once for what we have learned in class. The second post will be a student's choice.

    I’m sure you’ve already thought of this but you might put out a questionnaire at the beginning of the year asking your students
    1.If they have access to a computer at home
    2.If they have access to other technology where
    they are able to blog
    3.If they would use time before or after school
    to blog
    4.Would they use part of their lunch time to
    blog
    5.Can they think of any other ways or times
    you would be able to help them with their
    blogging
    It might give you a better idea of how to schedule your time.
